Jack Attack!

Well, not really an attack, but I enjoy the rhyming. Here is what the boy has been up to lately:

• Still eating the hands- and everything else. He is definitely starting to teethe and so far it hasn't been too bad- just needs baby orajel every now and then.
• He finally got his feet while propped up and grabs them when he is laying on his back, but he can't quite hold on to them yet. He still stares at them while he's in the car seat. I keep trying to get a picture, but the moving car makes it hard.
• Squealing!!!! Imagine that really loud and often high-pitched and you will know what a good portion of our day sounds like :) It's cute when his mouth isn't near my ear :)
• Rolling over- Front to back- check, Back to front- almost check. I often find him on his side and disgruntled because he got stuck.
• Sleeping is going GREAT! He usually sleeps from 10pm to 6-7am and may wake up only once, if at all. He doesn't eat when he wakes up, he just needs a little comfort to go back to sleep. So, needless to say, Jon and I are feeling a little more rested these days. Napping is pretty good most days, with three one hour naps and a 30 minute nap before bedtime routine.
• Laughing is getting pretty common and we love it!
• He NEVER stops moving except when he finds a television or sees a light up toy.
• He has started throwing around his weight when we are holding him, so we have to be on all alerts. He is usually trying to get his mouth on something when he does this.
• Jack will play with a few toys- his favorites are a ball and this lion car seat toy.
• We read to him at night and if he likes the book, he will sit and listen intently :) He likes two books especially, so we have those memorized. The two books are Farm Peekaboo and That's Not My Dinosaur.
• He has also started protesting when we take something away that he wants- I see glimpses of his 2-3 yr old whine already :)

That's the boy for now. I will try to post pics and a little more info on Austin life later today or definitely by tomorrow, but I wanted to get this up since I have been working on it for awhile...
