25 week update!

Well, actually it is almost 26 weeks! I cannot believe how time is flying and how much we still have to do :) I had a doctor's appointment this past week and it was the one where you have to drink the sugar drink before you go in so they can test you for gestational diabetes. Fortunately, everything came back great and baby is healthy and I am healthy! We went furniture shopping this weekend and got a dresser/changing table combo for the nursery (and it was on sale!). We also found a very comfortable rocker/recliner that we will put in the nursery, but Jon has claimed for his "dad" chair once we no longer need it for baby. Jon also found his favorite baby item so far- a Metallica lullaby album. I did not know this existed and we have yet to listen to it, so I have no album review. The guy checking us out at Barnes and Noble said he owned it (for himself) and really liked it. Apparently, AC/DC and Radiohead and many other hard-rock bands have albums of this sort for those who may be interested. In other news, I am doing my final rotation for nursing at the hospital where I will be delivering and on my first day there, I was fortunate enough to see my doctor do a delivery! I feel very lucky that I get to experience the hospital from the nursing side before I become a patient. Hopefully this will help me feel more relaxed when I am the patient, but I guess it could go the other way... Although, after watching my doctor in the delivery room, I like her even more and feel even more confident in my choice of OB/Gyn. That is all the news we have for now! We will post another belly pic soon, since I feel like I am growing by the second and look different than the picture from last week...

24 weeks pregnant

Here's a couple pictures we took. The first shows our adorable bedding that is alphabet themed. And the second picture is my belly! This is really the only picture we have of me pregnant. So there are no "before" pictures. We'll be better about taking pictures from now on. Also, we'll post more pictures as the nursery progresses.

Sonogram

Here are the sonogram pictures from our 20 week check-up. Baby did not want to sit still at all, so they are all "action shots". Also, baby was not modest, so everyone can see for themselves that he is in fact a boy :) I will post a picture of the crib and my belly soon, but I have to have Jon take the picture first.

First Post!

For the first post- here is a quick life update, in case you missed it. Jon and I found out in January that I was pregnant and due Sept. 22. Soon after, we found out that baby is, in fact, baby boy (which we suspected all along). This will be the first baby in my family and the first baby boy in Jon's family! So, everyone is very excited and anticipating September. I will be finished with nursing school August 7th, in time to get all the last-minute things done. Jon is off and running with his business and taking great care of me! The pregnancy so far has been relatively easy with little nausea or discomfort. As for a name, he will be Jack (after my grandfather) William (Jon's middle name, also a family name going back many generations). We will try to update as often as possible with nursery pics (when it is closer to looking like a baby's room) and pics of my ever-growing belly! Jon will have to do that though, because I have no idea how to upload pictures yet...
